Technical Applications Sales Engineer

As an applications or sales engineer, the selected candidate will be an initial customer point of contact. The engineer will use his/her technical knowledge along with sales skills to consult with clients on compliance advice covering a wide range of test and conformity assessment services. The position requires contact with technical and/or supply chain personnel from companies in the following industries: Automotive, military, commercial aviation, consumer and industrial products, telecom, and medical.

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Receive customer inquiries by phone, email, and website for Elite’s test and engineering services.
  • Advise clients on applicable regulations, standards, test methods, and testing processes. 
  • Prepare proposals for services and negotiate conditions to meet both client and company needs.
  • Identify opportunities searching for new clients who might benefit from company products or services
  • Develop long-term relationships with clients through consistent sales and application assistance.
  • Persuade clients that Elite service best satisfy their needs in terms of quality, delivery, and price.
  • Support marketing activities by attending trade shows, conferences, and other marketing events.
  • Make technical presentations and sales presentations on how Elite services meet client needs.
  • Producing support material for marketing projects.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • 4 Year (BS) Engineering Degree, or 2 Year Electrical Technology Associates Degree preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Self-starter, ability to learn quickly, and a desire to work with people 
  • Strong customer service attitude
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook

EMC Test Engineer/Technician

This staff position will require an individual who is a team player and possess excellent interpersonal, customer service, communication, troubleshooting and technical writing skills. The successful candidate should be highly self-motivated and able to multi-task.

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Perform EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) testing
  • Provide a high level of customer service to our clients
  • Generate Technical Reports
  • Provide EMC design and troubleshooting assistance to clients
  • Provide technical expertise and leadership
  • Assist in the development of automation and optimization of test services related EMC testing
  • Work within internal special project teams for continuous improvement

Requirements                  

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • EMC Test Engineer - 4 Year (BS) degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Physics, or equivalent
  • EMC Test Technician - 2 Year (AS) degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent

Environmental Stress Test Engineer

This staff position within our Environmental Stress Testing (ENV) team will require an individual who is a team player and possess excellent interpersonal, customer service, communication, troubleshooting and technical writing skills. The successful candidate should be highly self-motivated and able to multi-task.

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Set-up and execute ENV Stress testing per customer or regulatory standards
  • Gather and record test data
  • Generate technical reports
  • Perform all operations according to prescribed safety principles
  • Use a computer to program test profiles, record results, create technical reports, and record labor
  • Provide a high level of customer service to our clients through direct and electronic communication
  • Provide electrical and mechanical troubleshooting assistance to clients
  • Assemble and wire test set-ups and customer equipment as required
  • Perform other tasks assigned by supervisor
  • Work within internal special project teams for continuous improvement
  • Assist in the optimization of test services related ENV testing
  • Keep assigned area neat and orderly
  • Operate under the supervision of a more senior test engineer and/or a Department Manager

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • 4 Year (BS) degree in engineering or equivalent
  • Motivated, proactive individual with good interpersonal skills
  • Strong math skills, hand-eye coordination, and mechanical aptitude
  • Proficient in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel)
  • Knowledge of general hand tool use including cordless drills, wrenches, and screwdrivers
  • Ability to read measuring devices, both in English and Metric
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to changes in priority and requirements
  • Lifting requirements: lifting <50 lb frequently and >50 lb occasionally
  • Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time
  • Ability to work overtime as required

Additional Preferred Skills

  • Experience in interpreting testing procedures and requirements
  • Working knowledge of general and laboratory safety
  • Previous experience with using measuring equipment including torque wrenches, digital and analog test instruments, meters, et.
  • Knowledge of electrical and electronic circuits as well as formulas to determine correct voltage, amperes, and resistance
  • Ability to operate a forklift

Machining, Automation and Controls (MAC) Technician

The MAC Technician is responsible for the machining, fabrication, and assembly of products in accordance with applicable drawings and assembly procedures.

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Manufacture parts, sub-assemblies, and units to exact specifications according to manufacturing information from prints, engineering drawings, oral instruction, etc.
  • Operate and setup, misc. manual equipment (lathes, mills, drill press)
  • Operate, setup, and program CNC mills
  • Perform routine machine maintenance
  • Use hand tools as required
  • Assemble parts as required
  • Maintains and fixes shop tools and equipment
  • Organizes inventory and shop equipment
  • Operates cranes and forklifts upon proper certification
  • Perform all operations according to prescribed safety principles
  • Keeps assigned area neat and orderly
  • Uses computer to record labor into ERP system
  • Performs other tasks as assigned by supervisor
  • Works effectively and efficiently in both team-based and independent working environments to reduce costs and add value to the organization

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must be a high school graduate or have completed the requirements for the GED
  • Must be proficient operating, setting up, and programming both manual and CNC equipment used for manufacturing
  • Must possess knowledge of general hand tool use including drill presses, chop saws, and band saws
  • Must demonstrate a thorough working knowledge of shop math and geometric tolerancing as they relate to specific job duties
  • Must be able to read and interpret a wide variety of written instructions, prints, sketches, and detect and correct errors in same
  • Work independently and adapt to variations in assembly with minimal supervision
  • Ability to read measuring devices, both in English and Metric
  • Ability to perform work while standing or stooping for long periods of time, and to perform lifting of up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis
  • Communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals
  • Basic computer knowledge
