Employee Spotlight: Jessica Kramer

Here's a little bit about the new mechanical engineer in the lighting & photometry department, Jessica Kramer:

Title: Mechanical Engineer

Areas of Expertise/Interest: Lighting & Photometry, Electro-Mechanical Product Design

Education: B.S. Mechanical Engineering at University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign

Any unique hobbies, talents, skills, experiences, etc.: 

Crafting of all kinds: sewing, embroidery, beading, block printing, stamping, embossing, calligraphy, and hot gluing of course.

What would you consider to be your passion outside of work? How did you get started in it? Any advice for anyone looking to try this activity?

Cooking and baking. I was hungry and picky. Get an instant read thermometer a timer and try everything. Taste as you go. As long as you don’t over salt or over cook things, it is hard to go wrong.

Proudest moment in life so far:

Becoming a mother.

How did you get involved with EMC/ENV testing?

I have always been interested in the details of testing—the hows and whys— but I’m not quite sure exactly how I got involved. It was kismet!

Why did you choose to work at Elite?

It is an amazing company with lovely people who really know their stuff.

What is something that customers/colleagues might find surprising about you?

I can build one great chandelier.
