IEEE EMC Society Chicago Chapter March Meeting

When:

Tuesday, March 16, 2021

Where:

Online at 6pm (CST)

Join the IEEE EMC Society for their monthly chapter meeting, and stay connected with your professional colleagues and friends. Members and interested guests are cordially invited to attend this meeting to learn about Chicago EMC chapter activities, events, and plans. In addition, there will be the latest information from our keynote speaker regarding Wireless Regulatory Compliance Updates.

Unfortunately, COVID-19 restrictions will not allow for our annual St Patrick's Day event so this will be a virtual event. We hope next year will allow an in-person event with our usual festive food and refreshments.

Keynote Presentation: Wireless Regulatory Updates

By: Steve Laya, Elite Electronic Engineering, Inc.

Our keynote speaker will present the latest news covering regulatory rules and requirements for wireless enabled devices and digital devices. The presentation is based on recent TCB Council and European Union REDCA meetings held remotely in October 2020.

The bi-annual TCB Council/REDCA technical conferences cover 4-5 days of presentations on a wide range of compliance topics. This presentation will condense the information down to the highlights applicable to the more common types of wireless devices. The webinar content highlights include:

  • Brexit: How to transition your CE Marked product to the new UK requirements.
  • Updated Standards: What’s new in the industry.
  • Module-Host Integration: There are updated guidance documents for FCC and the EU.
  • Risk Assessments: More definition on this requirement.
  • REDCA.eu: New TGNs provide better compliance guidance.

The presentation will be brief, at 30 minutes, and will focus on highlights with time at the end for questions and conversation.
