Trusted Experts for MIL Testing, since 1954.
MIL-STD-461 is the qualification testing requirement for electrical and electronic equipment used by the US military. It includes test methods and performance requirements for Conducted Emissions, Conducted Susceptibility, Radiated Emissions, and Radiated Susceptibility tailored for specific military applications – including Lightning, High Intensity Radiated Field (HIRF) and Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) requirements.
In our nearly 70 years of EMC experience, we have the equipment, facilities and expertise to help manufacturers of military defense related equipment bring their products to market. Our services include:
Elite Services
- Test plans and procedures written by experienced EMC experts.
- LRU, Component, Equipment testing, plus Large Systems and Whole Vehicle EMC testing.
- Testing to all sections of MIL-STD-461G, and all legacy editions MIL-STD-461/462.
- Final test reports recognized and results accepted by all branches of Department of Defense (DoD).
- MIL-STD-461 EMC, electrical, and MIL-STD-810 ENV testing at One Location.
MIL-STD-461 Facilities, Chambers, Equipment
Elite has an impressive installation of EMC chambers and Facilities to perform all types of MIL-STD-461 testing. Our laboratory includes chambers that vary in size and purpose to support a wide range of products and support equipment.
Absorber Lined Shielded Enclosures (ALSE) | 11 ALSE chambers are configurable for MIL-461 EMC testing. Our largest chambers are configurable for testing groups of floor-standing units interconnected for system level testing. Several chambers include expansive ground planes to position multiple LRUs and to lay0ut harness and cabling for maximum exposure. |
Mode Stirred/Tuned Enclosures | 3 Elite’s “Reverb” chambers are used for High Intensity Radiated Fields (HIRF) testing. |
Whole Vehicle EMC Chamber | Elite has two chambers that support Whole Vehicle EMC testing. Each are configured with room exhaust handling for Engine-Running tests. |
Radiated Susceptibility (RS103) | ALSE (CW/SW): 200-400V/m from 10kHz to 40GHz ALSE (PM): up to 1500V/m from 1-18GHz Reverb (CW/SW): up to 1000V/m, from 100MHz-18GHz Reverb (PM): up to 4000V/m from 1-18GHz. |
Bench Test Stations | 8 bench test stations are provisioned for lightning tests, electrical loads testing, and various other unique procedures that don’t require a shielded chamber environments. |
Power Systems Tests | 60kW Programmable Power Supplies for MIL-704 and MIL-1399. Voltage variations, dips, interrupts, sags, and other power supply variations. 1500VDC/60A Bi-Directional Power Supply and Load. 800VDC/100A DC supply. LISNs up to 800VDC and up to 200Amps. |
Specialty Tests | RS105 EMP testing at 50k V/m MIL-STD-1399 Magnetic Susceptibility for large equipment. M-field coils up to 15’x15′. |
