Defense Logistics Agency (DLA)

Approvals For Product Qualification

The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Land and Maritime-VQ division establishes and maintains a supplier base of products and suppliers that meet the specified performance, quality, and reliability levels of the U.S. Department of Defense Product Qualification Program.

Only commercial laboratories that have been issued laboratory suitability for a particular test method are eligible to test the federal stock class type of device called out in a laboratory suitability letter. The VQ Division manages supplies of microelectronics, hybrid microcircuits, passive electronic and construction items and semiconductors, printed wiring boards, and electron tubes. These products and suppliers are on the Qualified Product List (QPL), Qualified Manufacturers List (QML), or Qualified Product Database (QPD).

The VQ Division also manages the Commercial Laboratory Suitability Program. Commercial laboratories, such as Elite, are evaluated by DLA-Land and Maritime to make sure they have the capabilities and quality systems necessary to do certain tests on QML/QPL devices. Elite is approved by DLA-Land and Maritime to conduct the following tests:

  • MIL-STD-461: CE101, CE102, CS101, RE101
  • EIA-364: 03, 06, 10, 17, 21, 22, 23, 26, 27, 28, 31, 32, 105
